Malvern College – A British School Shaping Global Learners

Malvern College Tokyo is an international school located in Kodaira, western Tokyo and part of the Malvern College Family of Schools whose founding college in the UK has a history of 160 years.

The school places inquiry at the heart of learning, nurturing independence and problem-solving, while instilling a lifelong love of discovery. Drawing on a British approach to teaching, it offers an excellent standard of education. Alongside traditional academic subjects, the broad curriculum includes entrepreneurship, financial literacy, STEAM, design, and social and emotional learning.

This balanced programme helps students builds a strong foundation that prepares them for future success at school and in the wider world.

Learning is supported by outstanding facilities. These include science labs, a dedicated a STEAM and design room, a two-storey gymnasium, an all-weather pitch, a library, and studios for expressive and visual arts.
A cafeteria, sakura garden and well-designed indoor and outdoor play areas further enrich school life, Together, these facilities provide a variety of opportunities for creativity and wellbeing and exploration in science, engineering, the performing arts, sports and enrichment, enabling pupils to develop their unique talents and interests beyond the classroom.

Pastoral care is central to the Malvern ethos. Small class sizes and dedicated tutor time ensure that each child is known and supported. Every student also joins one of the houses in the traditional British house system, which enriches school life by fostering friendship, team spirit, and a sense of belonging.

Parents play an invaluable role too through The Friends of Malvern group, which works to strengthens the partnership between families and the wider school community.

As an accredited IB World School, Malvern College Tokyo currently offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and is working towards the Diploma Programme (DP).
This will allow students to follow the IB pathway seamlessly from age 4 to 18. Students also benefit from a global exchange programme with Malvern College UK and from shorter exchanges with other Malvern Family schools, broadening their horizons though new experiences and environments.
