There is a good selection of international schools in Japan offering a wide curriculum and with a diverse student body not found in Japanese schools. They can be expensive, however (1 to 3 million Yen per year), and places are limited. It is a good idea to research the curriculum of each schools to find the right one for your child. Applying for an International Schools
Because of the time required to prepare the necessary documents, it is advisable to apply at least 6 months in advance. Entry requirements differ from school to school. Check the school’s website or call for more information. It will be useful to have transcripts prepared from all the schools your child has attended in other countries. It may be necessary to undergo a health check-up and take an entrance exam. Some schools have a minimum English language requirement.
